About Our Church

The oldest Presbyterian church in Wayne County, Pennsylvania, Bethany Presbyterian has a rich history stretching back centuries. Read more on our History page.

The Reverend William M. Blackie III leads worship service every Sunday in our beautiful sanctuary, located in the rolling hillsides of the Endless Mountains. To find out more about our Pastor, please see his Biography page.

We are a family friendly church, where children and adults worship, serve, and grow together as disciples of Jesus Christ.

Who We Are

The members and friends of Bethany Presbyterian Church welcome all persons, regardless of age, ethnic heritage, religious backgrounds, etc.  Our membership includes people from across Wayne County, including Honesdale, Waymart, Beach Lake, Lake Ariel, Pleasant Mount, Poyntelle, and others.  We are a church of families young and old, of single parents and retirees, of widows and widowers, of long-time residents and folks new to the community.

Our Goals

At Bethany Presbyterian Church, our goal is to glorify Christ by building disciples equipped for His service.  As a family united by our faith, we learn, worship, fellowship and serve together.

No matter how or where we serve Jesus Christ, the people of our congregaton are focused on joyfully doing God’s work.
